Dire Avengers / Asuryans Jäger

Actually, well, eeeactly, on ‘my’ world ship guardsmen are only used in extreme emergencies. Their tasks are mainly performed by Asuryan’s fighters. So I needed Asuryan fighters. This year I finally bought some, and also painted them, shortly after Christmas. First five, which are already being played with, and at the moment another five, to make the squad complete.

These have come to me via Ebay, and I have taken them apart quite brutally to be able to paint them again. In the process, I mixed in a few female torsos from the guardsman casting frame, and a few unhelmeted heads. Now it’s a nicely varied troupe.

They are not painted in the Asuryan typical blue, but in the Craftworld colors, mainly dark green. Only the helmet bushes and all the jewels on the armor are dark blue. So the hunters make quite a gloomy impression, but I find it quite fitting. And surprisingly, the green and blue tones don’t clash at all, as I had feared at first. Why did I do it this way? Well, because they are the guardsmen of my world ship, so to speak, and therefore don’t mainly wear the colors of their shrine, but those of the world ship, just like the other units that can’t be assigned to a shrine (i.e. rune readers and seers, phantom lords and guardsmen, vehicles, etc.). Since they are supposed to form the main part of my force, it looks better and keeps the whole thing visually together if they blend in rather than standing out.

Also brauchte ich Asuryans Jäger.
