Yay, I’m the proud owner of a Drop Pod! Since the day it was released… TWA kindly primed it for me (at my request in the Sprues), and last night I started deburring and assembling parts. As always, I will of course paint it first before it is completely finished, because otherwise you can’t get to a lot of things satisfactorily.
I confess that I didn’t find the building instructions that are supposed to be available on the English GW site, so I proceeded blindly and logically: Nothing of what I glued together yesterday should be in the way, or so I think. After all, it’s only parts of the floor and the door flaps. To make sure they dry without joints, I fixed them with clothes pegs, which are really handy for building!
Today I’ll have another look at the website to see if the instructions are back before I glue more parts together and possibly end up at a dead end. Rumour has it that fitting the door flaps is a bit tricky… I’d rather know what to look out for beforehand.
And if you’re wondering why the heck I need a drop pod, whether I want to drop my Farseer with it, no, it’s the foundation stone for my own Space Marine Chapter, the background of which I’ve been working on for a year now: The Order of the Living Standard. Maybe I’ll reveal more about it soon. In any case, the guys are supposed to be small but nice and very mobile, my dream would be a gunship, but for now, three drop pods will do, in which the two standard units and the commando squad will then come onto the battlefield. Wouldn’t even two drop pods be enough? *goes to look for the codex*

Jahah, ich bin stolzer Besitzer eines Drop Pods! Schon seit dem Erscheinungs-tag… TWA hat ihn freundlicher-weise für mich grundiert (auf meinen Wunsch in den Sprues), und gestern Abend habe ich angefangen, Teile zu entgraten und zusammenzubauen. Wie immer werde ich ihn natürlich erst bemalen, bevor er komplett fertig gebaut wird, weil man sonst ja an vieles gar nicht mehr zufriedenstellend herankommt.
Ich gestehe, ich habe die Bauanleitung, die es auf der englischen GW Seite geben soll, nicht gefunden, und bin erstmal blind-logisch vorgegangen: Nichts von dem, was ich gestern zusammengeklebt habe, sollte irgendwie im Weg sein, glaube ich zumindest. Es sind ja auch erst Teile des Bodens, und die Türklappen. Damit sie auch schön fugenlos trocknen, habe ich sie mit Wäscheklammern fixiert, die sind zum Bauen wirklich praktisch!
Heute werde ich nochmal auf der Webseite vorbeischauen, ob die Anleitung wieder da ist, bevor ich weitere Teile zusammenklebe, und mich womöglich in eine Sackgasse baue. Gerüchteweise soll ja der Einbau der Türklappen etwas kitzelig sein… Da weiß ich lieber vorher, auf was ich achten muß.
Und wenn ihr euch jetzt fragt, wozu zum Geier ich denn einen Drop Pod brauche, ob ich meinen Farseer damit abwerfen will, nein, der ist der Grundstein für mein eigenes Space Marine Chapter, an deren Hintergrund ich schon seit einem Jahr herumbraue: Der Orden der Lebenden Standarte. Vielleicht verrate ich ja bald mehr dazu. Jedenfalls sollen die Jungs klein, aber fein und ganz mobil sein, mein Traum wäre ja ein Gunship, aber erstmal tun es auch drei Drop Pods, in denen dann die zwei Standarteinheiten und der Kommandotrupp aufs Schlachtfeld kommen. Reichen dazu nicht sogar schon zwei Drop Pods..? *geht den Codex suchen*
